I currently attending Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. As a student in the department of Journalism, Media, & Computing, I will graduate this May with a double major in Graphic Design and Photojournalism as well as a minor in Interactive Web Development.
For me, design is not so much an “art” as it is solving a system of visual problems; that is, manipulating content to fit comfortably into a space without making it appear suffocated and using colors that convey the right message while enhancing the design.
For the past two years, I have worked in the Creighton Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a Multimedia Marketing Intern. In this role, I have worked on a variety of projects, including large print marketing campaigns, event promotion videos, and even redesigning the Admissions website.
Throughout my junior and senior years I have also worked on several freelance design and photography projects. These projects have spanned from logos and identity to banner ads and posters, including projects for the Creighton University College of Business and Creighton’s University College.
Since my junior year at Creighton I have been part of StudioBlue, which is a Graphic Design studio run by students. We serve needs of different organizations on and off campus. This past semester I have served as director of the studio, in charge of calling meetings and organizing projects with clients. It has given me a whole new insight into how the world or design operates.
My hobbies include reading, playing basketball & tennis, playing video games, cooking and just spending time with friends and family. My love of Apple products drives me to design with beauty and simplicity in mind.
